Our KPSGA Certified Safari Guides
James Gatheru
Founder, CEO, and KPSGA Silver-Level guide
Meet James, the man behind it all. Beyond leading the team, he’s something of a bird whisperer who’s spent the last twenty-one years (you read that right) guiding drives and chasing birds like it’s a full-time hobby (because, well, it is). Nairobi National Park? He calls it his birdy playground and has personally spotted over 400 species within its borders. From the Martial eagle to the sunbird, James will have you spotting birds you didn’t even know existed.
Agnes Muthoni
KPSGA Gold-Level certified Safari Guide
Agnes is one of those rare and deeply talented guides who have the wild on speed dial. With over a decade of experience running game drives in Nairobi National Park, she knows the park’s trails and temperaments like old friends. She is the kind of guide who can sense when the lions are about to stir or when the wildebeests are about to move. And somehow, she’s always in the right place.
Yvonne NJoroge
KPSGA Bronze-Level certified driver-guide
Part instinct, part magic, Yvonne can practically sniff out where the wildlife is hiding. For over 5 years, she has been driving through Nairobi National Park at least 2 times a week, learning every twist and turn and reading the bush like an open book. And it’s not just the spotting she’s a pro at: she knows how to turn every drive into a story and how to make every moment in the wild feel personal and unforgettable.
Stephanie Njeri
KPSGA Silver-Level guide and Big Cat Specialist Guide
Spend a minute with Eva and you’ll see it; the woman literally glows when she walks about the Mara. She has over five years of experience as a guide and can read the bush like a book. And her love for local culture? Don’t even get her started; she could talk for hours. What she writes gives readers the kind of practical tips they need to have a respectful and deeply engaging safari in the Mara.
Henri Kuria
Local Born Guide
A guide for over a decade, Peter’s got a treasure trove of local knowledge you won’t find in any guidebook. He was born and raised in the communities surrounding Nairobi National Park, and it shows: he knows where the wildlife hides, which trees hold secrets, and can spot signs anyone else would overlook. His stories about the park’s history and its relationship with the city are a real treat.
Patric Njama
Safari Photography Guide
Meet Patrick, a guide with an unwavering love for wildlife and a camera that’s practically his extra limb. With over nine years of guiding under his belt, he’s mastered the art of finding and capturing the perfect shot and can give you a tip or two on how to do it, too. Whether you’re a seasoned photographer or just starting out, Patrick will have you framing the Mara through a whole new lens.
